Amber Nichols

Amber Nichols is completing her Master’s Degree at La Salle University with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy, which will prepare her for a career as a licensed marriage and family therapist. She completed her undergraduate degree at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. While obtaining her undergraduate degree, she studied abroad in Mexico for 6 months for an intense cultural immersion experience. While abroad she was able to absorb the Mexican culture through living with a host family and taking a full semester of undergraduate classes in Spanish.

In her counseling experience, Amber has worked with same sex male couples engaging in risk reduction counseling through a men’s testing initiative at the University of Pennsylvania and the Family Planning Council. Amber is a member of Chi Sigma Iota which a Counseling, Academic, and Professional International Honor Society, Golden Key International Honor Society, and a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Amber’s goals are to focus on and empower individuals affected by racial issues, women & gender issues, and conflicts that arise in same-sex and heterosexual couples. Amber’s style is solution focused. In session, she creates an easy-going, non-judgmental space where the therapist and the client(s) will work collaboratively to focus on the present and future in order to create the client’s vision of a preferred future.
